COMMUNITY
IBPS marks the 3rd year in Business with Community Support Initiative
The world is going through an unprecedented Medical crisis due to the outbreak of COVID-19. It touched all of us, either directly or indirectly. On top of the pandemic, a dreaded cyclone tore through eastern India and Bangladesh on knocking down trees, smashing countless shacks and killing at least several people. The worst damage was reported in the Indian state of West Bengal, home to the metropolis Kolkata and many small, coastal villages. Paschim Banga Vigyan Mancha (PBVM), one of the largest people science organizations in India, started a community kitchen to feed average of 6500 homeless people every day. As a part of “third year completion of business”, IBPS decided to join the program and help them running the kitchen for a day by supporting one day meal for the 6500 people. We appeal to all our friends to support the cyclone affected people in Bengal.

SOCIAL HISTORY CONSERVATION SPONSORSHIP
IBPS is the principal sponsor of Partition Studies Quarterly (PSQ), an academic journal that focuses on the dissemination of India’s Partition story. To understand what is happening in places scarred by Partition like Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal and Northeast India, PSQ believes that a slightly longer view of Partition history is needed, to trace the origins of current borders and divisions. It thereby, engages with the less-remembered Partition narratives of India within a larger discourse in an effort to recover the hidden voices of Partition history of the subcontinent.
